One Word Domain
Retired automated search product for discovering one-word domains across multiple TLDs: find short brandable names and check availability from one interface.
What the product was for
Short brandable domains are scarce and scattered across registrars and TLDs. One Word Domain (oneworddomain.io) was a Localhost product that automated discovery of single-word names and gave users a search interface to explore the best available candidates across a variety of top-level domains, rather than checking names one registrar at a time.
What we shipped
A Next.js search front end for browsing and filtering one-word candidates, with results linked out to a registrar search path for purchase checks. A matching backend ran alongside the site to feed and refresh that inventory pipeline. The commercial surface was discovery first: find the name, then decide whether to buy.
Why it sits in other projects
The site has been retired and is no longer live. The write-up remains as process evidence for an automated consumer search product Localhost built and operated for a defined period, without a current public demo.
